Can Z-Wave devices connect to multiple hubs?

As per Z-Wave specification, no. A Z-Wave node (device) can only be paired to one hub (the designated ‘primary’ controller). ‘Secondary’ controllers added to the primary controller will lose their z-wave netword/added nodes and just act as a relay remote control.

Can a Z-Wave device be controlled by more than one controller?

Zwave only allows for one primary per network. You may be able to add another Z wave controller as a secondary, but the results may not be what you expect.

Can you have two Z-Wave networks?

Because the nodes of different networks cannot communicate with each other due to the different Home ID, they can coexist and do not even “see” each other. The 32-bit Home ID allows up to 4 billion (2^32) different Z-Wave to networks to be defined, each having a maximum of 256 (2^8) different nodes.

How many devices can connect to Z-Wave?

232 devices

A Z-Wave network can handle a maximum of 232 devices (nodes), including the primary controller.

Can a Z-Wave device be connected to two Z-Wave hubs?

Z wave devices can only belong to one network at a time, and each network can only have one primary controller. It is technically possible to add another controller as a “secondary” but to be honest SmartThings just doesn’t do this very well as either primary or secondary. So support officially recommends against it.
