Also known as crimp-on wire connectors, wire caps are connectors that are used to join two or more wires with a crimping tool. They like up to their namesake by featuring a cap-like design. Wire caps are cylindrical connectors with a hollow body.

Electrical tape is the simplest method of making electric wires safe. You also use tape on capped live electric wires as an extra precaution. Tapes can be used on loose live wires that do not fit the cap. You can simply use tape over the live wire to fit into the cap.

How do you remove a wire connector cap?

In most cases, connectors either hold the wire in with a small metal prong or they are crushed onto the wire. With a gentle tug, the wire usually pulls out of the connector. Place a pair of wire cutters next to the connector and cut the wire to remove it from the connector.
