Can you use flex seal over spray foam?

We do not recommend using Flex Seal on foam. Some foams may react poorly with Flex Seal, and may warp or dissolve.

Can you seal over expanding foam?





After applying the expanding foam to an area, you will need to allow for it to dry completely before any alterations or painting can be done. For most expanding foam products, the surface will be tack-free or sealed after around 30 minutes.

Is Great Stuff foam closed-cell?



Great Stuff Pro™ foam sealants are closed-cell, single part polyurethane foams that expand and cure when they come in contact with air and moisture.

Can great stuff be used outside?

Yes. Great Stuff™ and Great Stuff Pro™ products can be used outdoors. However, cured foam will discolor if exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light.

Is Great Stuff heat resistant?

The maximum use temperature for all Great Stuff™ products is 240°F, it is also combustible and will burn if exposed to temperatures above 240°F (116°C).

Does foam catch on fire?



Styrofoam is flammable at higher temperatures and can catch fire. It will melt at 212 degrees Fahrenheit, ignite with a spark at 680 degrees Fahrenheit and auto-ignite at 800 degrees Fahrenheit. Styrofoam can certainly be a fire hazard in the right conditions.

Can spray foam catch on fire?

Like many materials found in a home or building, spray foam can ignite and burn if exposed to a sufficient heat source. Foam insulation should be considered combustible and handled accordingly.

What will Flex Seal not stick to?

Is Gorilla tape better than Flex Tape?

Can you put Flex Tape over Flex Seal?



Flex Tape can only be top coated with Flex Seal Spray. Flex Seal Spray can then be painted over with almost all commercially available paints and urethanes. Flex Seal Liquid cannot be top coated with anything other than Flex Seal Liquid, however, you can add as many coats as you like.

Does Flex Seal burn?

Fire Exposure to this product may produce toxic fumes and cans of this product may combust when exposed to fire because of internal vapor pressure. Extra care should be taken to prevent fire when using this product.

Can mice chew through Flex Seal?
