  1. Turn off the power to the unit.
  2. Pour a dose of descaler into the pan.
  3. Flush the toilet.
  4. Leave for 1-2 hours.
  5. Turn on the power and let the unit pump out.
  6. Flush again.

How do you maintain a macerator pump?

Disconnect the macerator from the electric supply. Pour 1-2.5 litres of Toilet Cleaner & Macerator Descaler into the toilet bowl. Turn the macerator pump on for a few seconds to allow the descaler to enter the macerator. Turn the macerator off again and allow to work for 2 hours.

Can I put bleach down a macerator toilet?

Alternatives simply don’t do as a good a job, and can in fact damage the internal operations of the unit. For example, regular use of ordinary household bleach or other toilet cleaners will damage the rubber membrane which covers the pressure switch that governs when your SANIFLO macerator unit turns itself on and off.
