Can you put in wall speakers in an exterior wall?

I’ve installed multiple in-wall speakers in exterior walls in Norther California. Just cut the drywall, push the insulation in (or cut a small portion out), hook up wires, tighten speaker clamps, and enjoy. The insulation is not much different physically than what is used to stuff many free standing speaker cabinets.
