What is a Jandy actuator?

Jandy Valve Actuators are fully-adjustable and offer versatile pool and spa automation. They are compatible with all pool and spa valves and work seamlessly with the Jandy AquaLink RS control system. Jandy valve actuators automate any 2-way or 3-way diverter valves for pool/spa combinations and water features.

What are Jandy valves?

Jandy diverter pool valves divert water and are available with two or three ports. A 2-port valve essentially acts as a 1-way-in / 1-way-out valve, allowing for water flow to be shut off completely or to restrict the flow of water for a lower flow rate.

Can I manually turn a Jandy valve?

There are two (2) methods of manually rotating the JVA; one with power on (system operational) and one with power off (no power to the control system).

How do you manually move a Jandy actuator valve?

Quote from the video:

What is pool actuator?

Pool Valve Actuators are used to give an automated push button command to one or more of the Diverter Valves. They are wired into your Pool’s Control Box and mounted on top of your Diverter Valves.

How do you adjust a Jandy actuator?

Quote from the video:
Quote from Youtube video: You would just grab it rotate it and it would be the opposite direction in order to change it you would go into counter clockwise direction to shorten the run on the valve for the spa.

How does a Jandy 3 way valve work?

Quote from the video:

Can Jandy valve leaking air?

Maintenance and Repairs to Jandy Valves

Leaking valves (leaking air or water, depending on the location – suction lines or return lines), is a common problem with older valves. Replacing the o-rings on the diverter stem will usually repair this, or the diverter assembly can be replaced.

How does a 2 way pool valve work?

How long do pool actuators last?

Pool Automation is technology-based, and even though it should last you 10 years or more, you need to weigh the advantages of new simpler and more advanced automation products against the repair costs of your old automation.

How does a valve actuator work?

Torque is the rotational force an actuator generates to close a rotational valve. Electric actuators can generate this force by transmitting it to the output shaft and then the valve stem. When pressure is applied to the valve stem, the valve’s orifice opens or closes.

How do you remove valve actuator?

Why do zone valves fail?

The zone valve opens and closes according to the temperature in the room as determined by the thermostat and your settings. Sometimes the zone valve will fail to operate properly. This can be caused by a malfunctioning part on the valve itself or by a faulty thermostat or a faulty connection between the two.

How do uponor thermal actuator work?

Uponor’s thermal actuator for stainless-steel manifolds completes the actuator offering for radiant heating and cooling manifolds. The two-wire, slow-opening 24VAC actuator provides individual loop flow control on a multi-zoned manifold; i.e., a manifold serving more than one heating/cooling zone.

How do you replace a zone valve actuator?

Can you change a motorised valve without draining the system?

Nowadays, most actuators can be replaced without needing to drain down the system. On older types, this isn’t possible and you will need to drain before starting work. Switch off the boiler then the electricity supply to it by removing the fuse from the plug or fused spur outlet.
