1 Answer. Show activity on this post. Both the Timer and the Valves are designed for 24 VAC operation which is the standard voltage for sprinkler equipment so they should be compatible.
Will orbit controller work with Rainbird valves?
Answer: In my experience, generally, a lot of the keys, parts, etc between Orbit, Hunter, and Rain Bird are interchangeable (there are always some differences). I am using the Orbit Key to work with a Rain Bird flush-out valve.

it should work. find out what kind of rainbird valves you have, then look online to see what their voltage/current requirements are. you have to match voltages between the timer, and the timer must provide at least as much current as the valve require. They should all be interchangeable.
